Barclaycard to Raise Contactless Limit to £45
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 we will all have to adapt our behaviour to minimize points of contact. With this in mind, Barclaycard has announced it will be rolling out a new contactless limit of £45 instead of the previous £30, from the 1st of April 2020 to reduce our reliance on handling cash. Initial deployment will target high priority sectors such as supermarkets, pharmacies, and petrol stations but this will be available to all in due course.
As well as being more hygienic, this will also encourage more contactless payments which are twice as fast as traditional chip and pin transactions to complete. It is now more than ever vital for businesses to diversify the way they take payments, both for public health and to maximize sales during these uncertain times. Whether you are new to card, or you are looking to make your business as flexible as possible by taking online, over the phone, or mobile payments, UTP has you covered for all eventualities, with market leading rates.
